After nearly a year of planning, we're finally building our 2nd home theater. I had to leave the last one when we relocated and I promised to do it up bigger and better the 2nd time.

I'm documenting the entire process at this site:

Basically, we're building a dedicated HT, concession stand, art gallery, and game room.

I'll continue to post new pics as the project evolves.

Love the art deco true theater seats. The pattern on the side is priceless. It'll be fun watching this theater come along! Keep it up!

Someone who reads the "fine print", huh? ;-)

Apparently the day I went to pick out the seats, Hillary Clinton was next door giving a speech. The theater was located on Chicago's Miracle Mile so there was no place to park on the street. So, when I needed to load up the van, the only way to do so was to back into the alley between the theater and the building where Hillary was speaking.

The secret service was actually pretty cool. I'm amazed they let me do this at all given how things are these days. But, I was given exactly 5 minutes to back up the van, load it, and get out of there. There was a secret service agent watching us the entire time and snipers on the roof.

In the end, I scored what I believe are really cool seats for the theater and nobody was shot so it all turned out well. :)

Now that's the kind of interesting story that you'll be able to tell for a long time. Seems like every theater build has one - just not involving the Secret Service!

Looks like you'll have a nice space there.
