Well, it's official. The FCC has finalized rules for HD Radio (IBOC).

There it is. AM NIGHT TIME HD. Say goodbye to any AM DX'ing you loved to do. It's already bad, a few stations have already turned it on. (WCCO-AM, KFAN-AM to name a few biggies)

Discuss.

HOOOYA! Now they get to legally jam the AM band both night and day!

On a more positive side, I think it'd be interesting to see how far a station like WCCO will go in HD at night. (btw... good to see ya back on the boards, goobnet).

My question is how well will HD AM work at night? What will happen when distant stations start beating up a local station's weak digital sidebands?

Maybe this thread could become an "HD Radio DX'ing Thread.

Anyone tried a bit of HD DX on the AM band yet?
