I'm hoping somebody can help me find a replacement lamp for an Akai PT50DL14. The replacment part number labeled on the TV is BP96-01394A (0120W).

I've had no luck finding a place that lists it for sale. Are there other part numbers that would work with that model that are easier to find?

Your bulb number looks just like a Samsung number so I put it into google and it does show Samsung so..... go to www.samsungparts.com and see if the bulb you are looking for is in their lists, "lamps" on the right side of the site or search on the left side.

This is purely a guess on my part but some have suggested Akai and Samsung have some relationship?

My Akai is a re-branded Samsung.

Are there any places to buy lamps online beyond the Samsung site? A place that would be selling them at a discount vs. Samsung?

I've actually found that Samsung is the cheapest way to get it. Other sites will offer a lower frontline price but jack up shipping like you wouldn't believe.
