I just got a new 55" Fujitsu (51 series) PDP and I am trying to learn to calibrate it. I have a DTP-94 colorimter and I am using ColorHCFR to analyze the measurements.
This thing has a LOT of controls. I managed to get good primaries (dE < 10), decent grayscale in the sense of tracking D65, and okay secondaries but the Gamma is bad (1.25). I tried to calibrate "Natural" mode. Do the picture modes control gamma? What mode is 2.22?
Also, there are a lot of color controls (tint, color.rgb levels for each primary, tint and color for each secondary and rgb for white). Any idea which I should use for which steps?
Thanks.

Put the display in Fine mode and adjust the drive contrast to 80-90 to enjoy a smooth 2.2 gamma. The different picture modes do also have different gamma profiles associated with them.
Other threads on here answer the rest of your questions in some detail so try having a browse around.

Okay, thanks.
I tried fine mode with a few drive contrasts (40, 75, 90) and the best gamma I got was about 1.8. Am I missing something?
I have looked around quite a bit and I see lots about calibration in general and some about specific settings for other Fujitsu plasma's but not so much about the specific controls or this model. Any hints on what to search for?
I'm trying to learn to do this myself but it's hard when you don't know how the controls adjust the things your trying to calibrate.
From a few more hours trying last night, here's what seems to be going on:
1. Gamma is better in "Fine" mode but still too low. Not sure if that's across the whole range or just at higher stimulus/
2. Primaries are okay, though I'm confused about SDTV/HDTV gamut. I'm coming from an OPPO 981HD over HDMI at 720p. I would've guessed that's HD gamut but the primaries are closer (w/out adjustment) to SD.
3. Of all the primaries, Green is the most off at factory settings. The others are close (at least on the tristimulus picture) but green is way outside the triangle. This is true in HD and SD.
4. My approach has been, brightness/contrast, primaries, greyscale. Then I hope gamma is good. That doesn't seem to work for gamma.
I'd insert the ColorHCFR file if I knew how, Where do I look to learn that?
Thanks.
