I'm just now installing a high gain antenna on the roof of my house (MXU 59 is the model). Antenna web states that i'm 20-25 miles from the towers i need to hit.
I went up onto the roof, hooked it up about 6-7' high, installed a coaxial convertor and then hooked the antenna up to my laptop via a eyeTV hybrid device (which has the nice added feature of a signal strength monitor built in). I got ZERO strength no matter HOW i moved the antenna around (did this for close to 20 minutes), even at the antennaweb 151 degree suggested angle.
Would a UHF amplifier help this at all? Having the antenna higher?
I'm at a loss for what to do here and dont want to have to pay an installation crew to come and do it.
Anyone in/around the area hook something up before?
