here in Louisville, Ky on Insight. I contacted my local affiliate, WAVE3, and they blamed in on NBC not sending the feed out in HD due to problems on their end. I just want to get the facts straight before I email this guy back and either apologize or call him out. I did not check to see if it was HD over the air.

here in canada, both the seattle HD and buffalo HD NBC channels had the "HD" golf (SD handhelds, but HD tower shots)

It was HD on WNBC via Cablevision.

I get NBC HD via DirecTV Ch82. It was in HD yesterday, but there were quite a few breakups. So far today it seems better, however it is early. :)

Does the picture seem a little blurry or washed out to you? I'm watching it and the background trees/sky looks pretty washed out. However, it looks fine when the camera is positioned above the golfers and pointing down towards the ground. I'm in Rockford, IL.

Hmm...I didn't know that. Why is that though? I'm not sure how portable HD cameras are, but perhaps with a sport like golf, it's intractable to move all those eye-line cameras if they were HD cameras?

The reason that NBC golf isn't all-HD is that they use a firm that doesn't have HD wireless cameras. CBS uses a firm that does, so that's why all CBS golf tourneys are all-HD. The difference is amazing, as NBC's wireless cams have results that look upconverted even on my SD screen.
