I think at least some of the viewers are waiting for it on UHD, and quite a few TIVO it. It's sad that BSG has to suffer in the ratings as they've really held their own quality wise.

Assuming Sci-Fi in HD launches this fall as they have said then I would expect BSG season 4 to be show in HD simulcast with the SD channel.

Where/when was it stated that they'd go HD? As for BSG...well, lets remember that this channel cancelled FARSCAPE after Season Four and the ratings at the time were better than BSG's are currently! I just hope they allow the show enough time to at least complete the storylines.

NBC Universal announced it a couple days after DirecTV announced it back at the January CES. Sci-Fi, USA and stuff will be launched in HD in the fall and DirecTV will carry them when launched.

As for BSG season 4, it's got a full 22 eposides for next year. There is a pretty good buzz that Ron Moore will end it at the end of that season.
