I have the gateway 22" hd monitor and have the ps3 hooked up through the component cable and notice on my screen that the ps3 does not us3 the full screen. Is there a way to change this because my cpu is on dvi and uses the full screen. Pleas help

I'm guessing you're referring to black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. If that's the case and the 22" has a similar menu to the 21", open the menu, select Video adjust>Video scaling, then play around with the options.

The screen is actually a 16:10 screen and the PS3 outputs in 16:9. If you are able to set it so the screen is filled, the picture will be slightly elongated. I have a 21" from last year with my 360 attached. It doesn't have the option to do 1:1 pixel mapping so the picture is always elongated at 1080P. It's not too bad for games, but I would have a hard time watching other things like that.

How does the component input look on the PS3 on the FPD2275W? My wifes little cousin has a Ps3 and a xbox 360 (lucky little dude) and is running them on a 50 dollar tv...... I want to find him a monitor he can use for both consoles and a PC in the future for a good price. The 360 isn't a problem considering the vga cable that can be purchase. I know that there can be some problems getting the HDMI to interface correctly with the DVI-D and still have sound. So i really want to know how well it works with the component interface.

I'm using my 360 with a 20 inch BenQ monitor, i really suggest finding a monitor that is native 16:9. if he's young enough not to care about his pc's resolution, find him one that's not 1680x1050. it works fine for pc's, but getting into gaming it's a little odd.

I too use a monitor that is 1650x1050 for a 360. I would really like to know about the performance of the component inputs.

My gateway 21" 1680x1050 monitor works great with a 1920x1080P input.

With a component input right?

i'm using a sceptre x22 monitor

with the ps3 set to 1080p the picture is stretched just a bit.

i'd say theres only about half an inch missing on the right side. not too big of a deal for most games.

I don't use component inputs for anything since 2005. Only VGA and HDMI/DVI.

I use the FPD2275W together with my PS3 via component
I have a splitter so i can watch either on my sharp projector or the gateway or both simultaneously
Since the sharp is a 1280*720 i use the PS3 with 720P as maximum output resolution but it looks great
I am very happy with what i see

Hey guys,

I've just hooked up my ps3 to this monitor using an HDMI -> DVI cable. Looks wonderful and all. But, the video fills the screen...I want it to be 16:9 (black bars on top/bottom). I tried changing the setting using the Video Adjust -> Video Scaling option. No matter what option I choose, the image on the screen does not change at all. I've also tried different settings on the PS3 side (720p, 1080i, 1080p), with the same problem.

Any help getting it to use 1:1?

PS- Video Scaling does work if I use component input...but, the resolution is noticeably better using DVI because of HDCP support, so I want to get this working correctly.
