Jiffylush 03-26-07, 12:51 PM Really depends on your price range and the room.
The westinghouse 1080p lcds are cheap, but have hdmi problems with the ps3.
AFAIK there aren't widespread reports of problems between the ps3 and other models.
Any 1080p TV that accepts 1080p and 720p input should work well the ps3.
phlydude 03-26-07, 01:18 PM JVC 97 series have had issues playing PS2 games over HDMI without passing through a receiver first. Other than that, my 56" is one heck of a TV
Jay_Davis 03-26-07, 01:29 PM The Sony 50A2000 seems to be a pretty perfect match for the PS3. Does great on games and BluRay movies (not to mention everything else I've seen on it).

2.5ms response time, dual 1080p hdmi input, & 10k:1 contrast ratio. verahh niiice
phlydude 03-26-07, 02:38 PM there were some early reports of the green blob issue on the A2000 sets...did that become a widespread deal or was it limited to early on?
I went JVC because it was same display type (LCoS) with a cheaper tag without issue of blob issues (just some lamp failures early on in their 96 series)
Scotty L 03-26-07, 02:59 PM blob issues seem to be limited to the '04-'05 models, but the even then the 2nd batch were blob free. people on AVS said Sony was good at dealing with the problem. mine doesn't have it...
Be careful with whatever you choose. If you go cheap, you WILL regret it. Those 34" Sony CRT sets were incredible and, in many areas, remain unmatched by any modern non-CRT displays. Moving to something like a cheap LCD will only result in disappointment next to that CRT.
Pikasauce 03-26-07, 03:30 PM Any 720p Panny Commercial Plasma. I have the 50" 8UK model and the picture is stellar.
HD_Lantern 03-26-07, 04:51 PM 2.5ms response time? Wow, if true, that is a great display for gaming. I'll have to check out this model as well.
Hey noyrb21, which model do you have?
noyrb21 03-28-07, 05:47 PM I have the 34HS420, I think
Noircogi 03-28-07, 05:50 PM Get something which takes 1080P over HDMI (and has a native resolution of 1920x1080). I suggest LCD for thin profile and no burn-in worries.
stevesns69 03-28-07, 11:54 PM Sony SXRD 50A2000 is the way to fly!!! It's a native 1080p with 2 HDMI ports, so no worries with this HDTV!! I got mine shipped to my house from an internet store for about $1700 total. If you buy online then no sales tax, just shipping.
dogdoctor 03-29-07, 02:40 AM I can't say that I own one - but I just helped purchase, move and set a Sony LCD KDL-52XBR3.
1080p via 3 HDMI ports, 2 Component ports, and a PC input (1:1 pixel map with no overscan). Absolutely georgeous as it should be for it's price tag. My friend loves it.
ToddUGA 03-29-07, 07:24 AM Another vote for the Sony A2000 SXRD. Gorgeous picture.
wmwilker 03-29-07, 07:59 AM I have a 720p JVC LCOS and love it. I would love to have 1080p but my tv is only a year old.
BTW: it helps me win all of my races on Motor Storm

Vizio 47" 1080P LCD. Flawless performance with the PS3 (gameplay and especially Blu-Ray playback) and very inexpensive. Piano black bezel with touch sensitive controls. 2 HDMI inputs, RGB input, detachable speakers, wall mountable. All for under $2,000 (1800 if you catch a sale at costco)
cuadra11 03-29-07, 11:51 AM Sharp 37" 43U model looks great but has optical audio prolems with the PS3. When you use HDMI video combined with optical audio the screen starts to flicker. This only happens while playing a game. When watching a blu-ray movie or DVD the T.V works fine. This seems to only be an issue with Sharp Televisions.
