I have been a ps3 owner since launch, a PS fanboy since 2 months after ps1 launch. I currently only own 2 ps3 games Resistance, which is a good game not a great game, and fight night which is identical to the 360 version, I feel that there is no must have game for the ps3 right now. I really feel that the PS3 is not going to win this round of the wars, they are giving up to much ground. Ive been waiting patiently for Rainbow Six Vegas since launch day, which has been delayed time and time again. And now I get the news that MLB 07: The Show is being delayed til mid May. Just another blow to what seems like a huge list of nothing but bad news for the ps3 :(

if you're looking for a baseball game, mlb 2k7 is pretty damn good. far better than last year. considering that we haven't seen ANYTHING on the ps3 version of mlb 07 (usually spells disaster), this may be the best bet, plus it's available right now...

I think it goes beyond just looking for a baseball game. It is more of the point that you're looking forward to something only to be disappointed. In my situation I was looking forward to F.E.A.R. It was to be a release title then moved to Feb, then to March, now April. I did have this pre-reserved until the last move. I got tired of waiting and the excitement wore off and I cancelled it. I feel your pain!

delays are nothing new to the videogame world. in fact it's downright commonplace. getting yourself worked up over them is only going to lead to a life of frustration and misery. games aren't delayed to piss off consumers. it's so the developers release a product with the highest possible quality. while nobody welcomes delays, would it not be better for a game to see a few delays to get it right instead of rushing some half assed, bug filled crap out the door to meet a release date?

Project started in 1997 and they still haven't released it yet. Their original release date was supposed to be in 1999.

I would rather a developer tell me they are going to release a game in October of 2009 and then next week say "We got this done early so here it is". Instead of "Here is a date, but we are going to need more time. Oops again still need more time".

I thought I had heard news months ago that sony wasn't even going to do MLB 07 for the ps3, and were going to wait for 08. If they do put 07 out that'd be great, cuz the MLB series is one of my faves for baseball games. I am basically in waiting mode on new PS3 games until some more titles come out.

The PS3 has only been out 4 months (try 3 days in EU). It's fully expected that the game selection would be light at this point. Both the PS1 and PS2 experienced this. If you are looking for a large game selection, it's best to hold off 6 months to 1 year after launch so you have more choice. This is nothing new, every system experiences this.

Release delay happens all the time, and while frustrating, every platform experiences it, and it's something we have no choice but to live with.

I would rather they delay the SHOW and and patch it so it will upscale to 1080 i.

Well, at least they didn't dangle it in front of us as a launch title :)

Yea I can't wait for the SHOW either man... Getting PS3 end of April. My cousin traded in his 360 for ps3, he's fairly happy... said madden was alot better for ps3 and MLB 07 said is pretty good... i have it for 360 and MLB i think is pretty decent, after i fixed the sliders from some online recommended settings the game played 10x's better.

anyway, just can't wait for the SHOW, hopefully the delay will just make it a much better game..... better for us in the long run.

I've always been a fan of EA's MVP series. I'm not excited about either PS3 version because of the 720p (which my TV doesn't support). I'd rather wait until they get something in 1080i. I guess I've gotten spoiled by NBA 2K7. I'll keep playing it for now until Rainbow 6: Las Vegas comes out next month.

I'm a big video game baseball fan (remember "Baseball" and "RBI Baseball" for the NES?), and am also looking to get one of this year's titles. Unfortunately, I saw a commercial for "The Show," and it specifically mentioned "coming to PS2 and PSP." No mention of PS3...

Regarding PS3, I sold mine 3 days after getting it - get a 360, it's the best system I've ever owned (it's just passing super nintendo now!)

I recommend 2K7 for ps3. I heard the show was great for ps2 so Im sure it will be good for ps3 when it comes out.

get MLB 2K7, I have and it's an amazing game..
heck if you did by the tmie the show came out you'd prolly be bored with it already and get "the show"

ultimately for me, get 2k7 which was made for teh ps3, not just a ps2 port without even a guarantee of updated graphics

At one point when Jimmy Rollins struck out Joe Morgan actually did a Harry Kalas impression. All of the crowd chants are player and stadium specific.

Ridiculuous that there is not voicechat or buddy lists supported online though.

yea, specially once you start tuning the sliders, MLB 2K7 is such an amazing game..

truth be told 2k sports is really good :X i didnt expect much from college hoops 2k7 but it has a coach mode feature and it's the only thing i been playing lately

I played it thought it was a pretty good game, but it didnt have 2 player. I only got to play 1 game though so I didnt get into deep with it.

Agreed. I was not happy with NBA 07 for the PS3. It's terrible for everything but the graphics. NBA 2K7 has really impressed me on the PS3. Way better than NBA 07. I suspect the MLB games will be similar.

2K7 DOES have 2 player mode.

Maybe that's because I saw NBA07 first. My brother bought it with his PS3 about a month before I got mine. It looked amazing compared to NBA Live on the PS2. Since I started playing NBA 2K7, I haven't gone back to look at NBA07. Maybe I need to see them one after the other. Thanks for the input. :D
