I will definitely be getting this. A few questions though, they initially said you could pickup the disk in store and then load onto your console. Can you still do this?

Once you enter into the different 'realm' can you exit back to the normal oblivion whenever you want? I have some quests I need to finish.

Thank you, I was looking under "Newly Released Downloads" and it's not there. Silly me.

ctiq21, there is good reading in the FAQ covering what you can do with the existing world and existing characters here - http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/shiveringisles_faq.htm

They have thought this one through very well. As usual.

No problem. Wasn't expecting it to be available until after the maintenance tomorrow.

No DVD in store (Only for PC), you can go back and forth from what the online sites said.

Just a heads up. According to posts on other message boards, you must wait two days (in the game) before you are able to go to the Shivering Isles.

A full gig of Oblivion goodness! Yay!
Not quite a bargain but still pretty darn good.
Downloading even as I type.
I may not go to work tomorrow... ;-)

Played this a little bit last night. It seems great. I have spent $30 in much worse ways when it comes to video games, so I doubt I will be disappointed. The gatekeeper is huge. I love the night sky when you are in the Shivering Isles.

So far worth my $30. Seems harder at the default difficulty setting, but thats a good thing.

Sorry for asking, but will this every be available in stores? I'd rather have the disk.

The last thing I read was no to a Seperate disk. Though it will be available in a "Game of the Year Edition" of Oblivion. (Just as the Morrowind explanation was)

Maybe for XMAS, if the Morrowind Example holds up.

I heard that they would release a disc for purchase at a later date that included the Knights of the Nine. Can anyone confirm?

just read on Wikipedia, that for now Shivering Isles is only downloadable for the 360. However the developers are saying that eventually they will bring it to retail and it will include all previous expansions, including Knights of the Nine booyah!!!!!!

That would be the GoTY edition later this year. Honestly if you do not own Oblivion its worth waiting as you will get over a $100 worth of content for $60.

I already paid $50 for my Oblivion however so another $30 was worth it to play it last night.

And 30 hours of gameplay to boot!

Dam! :)

Confirm as true? No, but I think they might need to do that for the people that don't have Live. Price it at $34.99 or something maybe?

30 is probably a conservative estimate. They said 40-60 for Oblivion. To finish the main side quests (Fighters Guild, Thieves etc) and the main quest is all but impossible under 80-100 hours.

Hell I spent an hour and a half reading the books I bought in one bookstore last night!

I beat it at 92 hrs, but I must confess, I still lack a lot of the Dark Brotherhood stuff. If you REALLY tried to do everything, I would image with Shivering Isles also, it's probably a good 125 hour game, wouldn't you say?

So what view are people using? I played Oblivion in FP originally, but since then I have played so many 3rd person games I gave it a try. I am adjusting well and I prefer the FoV that 3rd person gives me here. Lots of new things to see!

I'm strictly a FP guy, but only because thats what I got used to. Both have pros and cons though.

TPS guy here, i've tried FPV when i'm close to items but other than that i use the third person perspective settings since i like to see the character i'm playing, not just that i put a lot of time in perfecting my charchter in the create a character menu,i'd like to see my Goddess ;)

I have read about the two days thing before the quest starts but I have a old character I am using (152 hours) and I played for an hour today and still dont have a journal entry. What gives?

Is it related to live being down?

I completed the main quest and all the guild quests, along with about 2/3 of the side quests in the game, in 60 hours. Wasn't trying to hurry.

I've completed almost all the downloadable content, except Mehrune's and Shivering, and I'm at about 85.

This is the best freaking expansion ever. Man, I love the new creatures you fight. They seem to fight better and it is a little harder to wade through them with my level 40+ figther. Great graphics and detail, new quests, new ingredients. Man, this rocks. So worth the $30.
