I'm moving this saturday so I decided to take down my av equipment and pack it away. I thought I had everything unplugged but I forgot the subwoofer. When I disconnected the cable from my receiver the sub made a crazy noise for 10 seconds or so. I had already disconnected all of my speakers and wire and packed it away so I couldn't turn my receiver back on (I heard it wasn't good to turn it on w/ no speakers connected).

I just want some assurance that I didn't break anything (sub or receiver). I won't have the new equipment hooked up for another month or so since i'm moving it to storage for a month before I close on my new house.

Comments please, Thanks

You should be fine, but only you'll know for sure once you plug er back in!

You should be able to try running your sub from the pre-out of a dvd player or even a computer (make sure to enable crossover) and test it without having to use a rxvr.

LOL!!! I do what you did all the time, but on purpose. Just to make my rabbit dance like crazy from everything shaking. HEHE

What you did was grounded the signal plug. Nothing bad happened
