Hi Guys,
I am trying to calibrate a Fujitsu, P42HHA40us.
I have attached a file to show the closest I can get. I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience or tips in helping getting the lower end of the scale flatter?
The problem is it only has one set of RGB for adjusting grey scale, not both, which makes it quite dificult getting the highs and lows as flat as possible.
OH, I am using Colorfacts 6.0 and a sencore VP401.

If there aren't controls for down there, you're stuck unless you can do it in the source or a processor or something. Focus on getting the bright parts most accurate though, we have a difficult time seeing greyscale problems down low. Greyscale problems down low are mostly visible not so much as greyscale problems but as detail problems in terms of loss of shadow details.

Thanks!
Just frustrating.
I can get the levels pretty flat from about 30% upwards, but the picture is not nice at all. In fact it kinda looks better before cal. But I guess it's all experience as well. I thought our eyes were more sensitive to lower darker parts of the picture so it was important to concentrate on the lower end of the scale. Oh well I'll keep trying.
Trying to learn the ART of calibration (it aint easy!)

Working with displays that omit crucial controls is problematic at best.

On Fuji's, I have found it necessary to pay very close attention to the black levels, boosting them just a touch so the gains control more of the overall wb. In addition to this fudging, I'll give up some accuracy on the top end so there is less error or color bias in the lowest IRE registers. Your correct that our eyes were more sensitive to lower darker parts of the picture which necessitates loosing just a bit of the deepest blacks and perhaps a slightly higher level of error in the brightest whites.

Give these "fudge's" a try if you like. Your right in your assessment that when working without all of the tools required for accuracy, science and art have to be intermixed.

I am trying to learn to calibrate my Fujitsu (P55XTA51UB) as well. I actually got a pretty good color temp across IRE (dE < 8) but I am completely stuck on gamma. No matter what I do, my gamma (display gamma on ColorHCFR) comes out between 1.4 and 1.9.

How did your primaries look? Did you adjust them? How does your gamma look?

I'm not sure I can help any but once I'm allowed to attach, I'd be happy to post some data and maybe we can learn from each other.

Anyone else out there with experience calibrating with these controls?

Thanks.
