Yeah, most likely a mistake unfortunately. They're selling the HD DVD for $28 if I remember correctly.

I just plugged in 5164916 into outpost.com and it came up with the hd-dvd version. I wonder if they will have a retraction at the store.

Best case is that you can take the ad and do a pricematch somewhere else.

Might be able to get another store to price match the ad though.

Well I called the Campbelll store and the DVD guy said they won't have their shipment yet until sometime after 12pm, however he did confirm the price as $16.99. If the price is indeed wrong lets hope they don't catch it. Fry's employees aren't the smartest around...

Just called Frys. It is in fact $16.99 for HD-DVD but none of the Fry's in Bay Area have them. I don't think it's a mistake, maybe the ad was printed wrong with DVD logo, should've been HD-DVD? The item number matches with HD version.

Exactly. I printed out the ad and took it to my local Best Buy and had them price match it. I also had a $5 Reward Zone voucher so I ended up paying about $13.

It's a combo disc, so both are right. ;)

I took the ad to the Chandler, AZ Best Buy and the supervisor advised that they usually do not match "one day" loss leaders.

However he did so $16.99 plus tax out the door.

Fine with me if they did or did not, I was not trying to get over and did not view the local paper and assumed this was the price in this region as well.

The Fry's in Tempe, AZ did not have this title in.

I already ordered this on Amazon but decided to try and get a price match anyways. As Kahuna said, BB doesn't match one-day prices so I didn't get it. I was about to try and convince them but decided what the hell, I'm already getting it from Amazon.

Fry's in Renton was quick to say that it doesn't come out until next week. I told him that the release date was today and he assured me I was wrong. Ha.

has to be a mistake the website has it for 28.99, i couldnt get a store to price match the one day sale price. Either way none of the fry's stores have it in stock (so they say), by tomorrow i guarentee it wont be that price. I bet they have it in stock but dont want to sell it for 16.99 so they are deliberately holding on to the inventory untill tomorrow. Fry's is a very shady place that has employees that are always making mistakes so they make up for it by doing things like this. Problem with the shipment my ass! Either way i bought it at best buy with a price match from target for 27.99 not great but better then 34.99 asking price.

No. They will say there was a mistake in the system and that there is nothing they can do. Fry's doesnt honor mistakes like other stores, they are one of a kind business, and the dont care if they lose u as a customer. I have tried to buy items that are mismarked for less and they tell me at the check out that we have new employees and they make mistakes sorry but we have to charge you our list price. I try avoid shopping there at all costs. Best thing to do is the print there online adds when they have really good prices and get prices matches from other stores like CC or Bestbuy. I refuse to buy stuff there unless i really have to because of the way they treat customers.

I just did a price match at Best Buy by printing the page on the web-site. The movie was 24.99 on the website! :D

the thing is its not a price mistake. i talked to the manager and he said this is the one day price, no one is trying to pull a fast one and said they will print out rainchecks for anyone who wants it. I had him sign mine to that effect.

Stopped by Fry's on Plano Pkwy and they didn't have any copies. I didn't even see a display advertising it on the rack. I did see a big display on the rack for Happy Feet though.

The Best Buy on Thunderbird wouldn't honor the ad which I brought with me. I didn't even notice when I printed it out that the store locations were right below the Children of Men ad and the customer service lady did notice the Cali stores. I still had the online ad with me and got a price match to their online price which saved me a couple of bucks. Plus I used a $10 reward zone coupon.

Yes! I went to BB and they said they don't match Frys' 1-day sales, but they did match Fry's.coms' Happy Feet price? So after I picked up HF for $25.99 I went to CC across the street and had no problem PM'ing COM for $16.99. :D :)

I went to Fry's at round 6:30 pm pacific time and they did not have it. The lady helping me got me a raincheck and told me that they did not receive the movie.

None of the Fry's stores in the Bay area have the disk in stock, but will provide a raincheck today for the sale price. Both the Palo Alto and Sunnyvale stores provided a raincheck. They anticipate receiving stock later this week or next. And yes, the price is correct for the HD DVD version, but it expires today.

COM is back in today's add, but at their normal price. I want to go use my rain check, but I wasted 2 trips yesterday and don't want to again unless I'm sure they have it in stock. Anyone pick it up at the south bay Fry's yet?

BTW I didn't really waste my trip to the Sunnyvale Fry's. I stopped to get gas at a 76 station and someone made a mistake with the pumps and I got $2.35/gallon vs the listed $3.35/gallon. That saved me $13 on the small tank. So the $11 saving on the movie and $13 saving on the gas...well I went and bought "Happy Feet" :).

Tell me about it. The movies are all out of order and I did not even have a price tag on mine. Every time I go into that store I have to change the display TV input from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 so HD-DVD is displayed. I know that the Fast and the Furious does not sell players but it is worth a shot.

I just watched the entire movie on my Xbox 360 add on and had no problem whatsoever, I was even playing around with the U-Control function with the picture in picture, commericals, etc. and also had no problems. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

I got my copy earlier this evening @Fry's in Sunnyvale with a rain-check. It works with the xbox add-on. I had problems with the movie stuttering after starting a game and doing other things (before starting the movie). A shutdown and start fixed that (and there was also a small piece of lint on the disc which I cleaned off which may have been the problem).
