Which one looks better? I had to get rid of the velo dls 4000 which looked good with the piano black finish. The wife would like the new sub to look something like it.

View Full Version : SVS PB12 NSD or VTF-3 MK 2 wtf bryanlesah 03-27-07, 03:13 PM Which one looks better? I had to get rid of the velo dls 4000 which looked good with the piano black finish. Both look about the same and performace wise you are pretty close too. You might be better off with a 25-31PCI or a 20-39PCI from SVS which is something you might be able to hide behind the TV or behind the couch. But I don't even know if those two places are an option for you... cschang 03-27-07, 04:05 PM If you are patient and scour the used sources, you might get lucky and find a VTF-3MK2 in piano black. They made that finish for a short while. bgillyjcu 03-27-07, 04:52 PM How about an SVS SB-12. Those come in lots of great finishes and the box is TINY compared to the other mentioned box subs. bryanlesah 03-27-07, 06:44 PM How about an SVS SB-12. How is the performance compared to the others? bgillyjcu 03-27-07, 06:47 PM www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-sb12plus.cfm If you read that page you'll get a pretty good idea about their design goals for the product. And from the owners around here they are all happy with it from what I have read. amdeutsch 03-27-07, 07:17 PM Bryan, If you hurry and call them first thing in the am you might get lucky and find a b-stock VTF-3 mk 2 still available. GL Hint, hint, Just got got off the phone with them. :D amdeutsch 03-28-07, 06:47 AM Its now listed on their page. GL mojomike 03-28-07, 08:50 AM How is the performance compared to the others? Sound quality is top notch. Output is reasonably strong down to the low to mid 20hz range, not as deep as it's big brothers. Build quality and features also top notch. bryanlesah 03-28-07, 09:12 AM Its now listed on their page. GL Thanks amdeutsch, according to the price on the website it is only knocked off by $50 is this what you paid too? amdeutsch 03-28-07, 09:48 AM Its already discounted since its discontinued. I left it for you :) and picked up an HO instead. :D bryanlesah 03-28-07, 01:50 PM I just ordered the svs pb-10. I couldn't resist the lower cost. I have a smaller room and found myself turning down the volume on the last sub. I hope this turns out well. Thanks again. Hiroyuki Sakai 03-28-07, 02:43 PM I just ordered the svs pb-10. Congrats on the sub purchase :) Before you throw all the packaging and foam that came pack with the sub. Try putting the PB10 ontop of the foam, where it sat at inside the box, it's great for trying to get the best position for the sub. You don't have to carry it across the room just slide and go :D ArtVandalay7 03-28-07, 03:57 PM Congrats on the sub purchase :) Before you throw all the packaging and foam that came pack with the sub. You don't have to carry it across the room just slide and go :D the floor isolation points (or rubber feet as I like to call them) are also removable, so if you have carpet you can slide it easily when you take these off, then put them on again when you find a spot you like... |
