I don't really know all the details on what an HDMI does. The new "elite" 360 is coming out soon, which has a new HDMI output support.

What does HDMI do exactly? Replace component?

Reason I ask is that my 42HDS69 has around a 60-70ms delay. It seems minor, but it's noticeable. I know I could probably fix it with a VGA, but, the 42HDS69 doesn't seem to support VGA. So it leaves me stuck.

If the HDMI can take care of my lag delay, then I might cave in and buy the new 360 model.

I asume you meant 6 or 7 MS delay ;)

HDMI wont improve the delay since that is inherent to the display itself not the signal.although a fuzier signal can acentuate it a little it wont really improve much.

correct my if i'm wrong, but i thought a 6-7 ms response time for gaming was pretty good???

6 or 7 MS is very good ! the difference between 6 & 7 and 2 is not really noticable at all. although some ppl are more susceptible to it pretty much like the rainbow effect on a DLP display.

Are you sure you folks are talking about the same delay? The poster seems to be talking about the delay between a frame being sent to the TV and being displayed ("upconversion lag" or "image processing lag"), while you seem to be talking about pixel delay times (i.e. time between when a pixel is commanded to turn a given color and when it does).
