"The HD DVD is presented in 2.35:1 widescreen and encoded at 1080p. Children of Men is a very gritty film, and its visuals are often very drab, but this is in keeping with the tone of the story. Blacks are especially strong, and overall detail is near excellent. Rarely does a visual presentation complement the mood and purpose of a film so well. Audio is Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround. While this is a very thoughtful movie, its also an action film that features many scenes that are quite impressive in surround sound. The bass is very heavy, and you constantly feel immersed in this insane world."
Edit: The review above incorrectly notes the aspect ratio as 2.35:1. The film is in fact 1.85:1.

I found a more detailed one (I'm still on the edge before buying I'll read the highdefdigest review):
Upcomingdiscs:
Video - Presented in a 1080p, VC-1 Encoded, 1:85:1 Widescreen Aspect Ratio, Universal’s Children of Men has the type of transfer that one might not necessarily rank as Tier 0 (read demo worthy), but has more of a transfer that captures all of the important themes in a rich, stylistic manner.
Color usage was just fine with many sequences boasting fine, rich colors. A lot of the film’s thematic issues resulted in the colors feeling kind of drab and dull (mostly dark blacks, blues and greens). Grain was virtually non-existent never really becoming noticeable to a point where it annoyed. Sharpness was kept in check with no evidence of the film’s print becoming jagged. All in all this was a solid presentation.
Audio - Arriving with the standard Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 available in either English or French, Children of Men has a few noteworthy sequences that put this one higher than it normally would rank.
It should be no real surprise to anyone who has seen this film that Children of Men has a type of front heavy mix. Dialogue was crystal clear throughout the film’s presentation. Surround usage was surprisingly impressive considering this is a dialogue heavy film. I found how, despite all the dialogue in the film, surround effects were still present (check out the film’s initial explosion sequence or the sequence with Julian in the car). Dynamic Range was effective to a point of becoming immersive with deep, clean bass. Universal rounds up the visual/audio aspects of this disc with a truly effective audio presentation.

I think the one found on docdvd or digitalaudiovideo is incorrect as (according to dvdempire) the film is presented in a 1:85:1 Aspect Ratio (also the back cover image that provide states the same thing).
Does anyone know if the US HD DVD is identical to the European versions of the HD DVD, because they offer 6 different language tracks?
