WB Finally Confirms Lego Batman
The Dark Knight's lego alter-ego coming to consoles in 2008.
By Dan Dormer, 03/27/2007
Traveller's Tales, the makers of Lego Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy are now one brick of a larger company, Warner Bros. Interactive. However, don't worry about this changing their focus from brickology, because WB has them hard at work on their next game, Lego Batman: The Videogame.
Most of the details, much like Batman's true identity, are currently unknown about the game. It'll release sometime in 2008 on the current and previous consoles, as well as PC. It's quite possible the game's release could be dependent on when the next film in Christopher Nolan's Batman reboot, The Dark Knight, hits theaters, scheduled for next summer.
If you want an idea of what the characters -- villains and heroes -- might look like as Lego's, be sure to check out the Batman Lego site (for the actual block creations, not their digital recreations). Both Batman and Two-Face look puuurrrfffect -- but not you, Catwoman. Sorry.
found a flash mini game!

Shizelbs 03-28-07, 12:12 AM After playing Lego Star Wars, I know I will be buying this one.

JimsArcade 03-28-07, 12:16 PM I loved both LEGO Star Wars games, so I'm definitely interested.
While I'm intrigued about their use of Batman, I think a much better idea would've been LEGO Justice League. What made the Star Wars games so great was the need to use unique types of characters to accomplish tasks and solve puzzles. JL would seem like a slam-dunk idea to carry on this methodology. I don't think you'd get that kind of diversity using just the Batman license.

I am definitely looking forward to this...I keep meaning to pick up the first SWL game as I've only played the second (OT) one. I kindof agree with the above though, that Justice League would have been a better choice. Of course, it's too early to say...I mean there are quite a bit of characters in the Batman universe. I can't wait to whoop on the Joker using Alfred. I'll be curious to see how it shapes up.
jigsawhc 03-28-07, 12:29 PM This game should be a blast.
dragonyeuw 03-28-07, 06:54 PM Looks good,I think Indiana Jones,LOTR,or Matrix would be better, but I'll definitely check this out....
jrogacki 09-23-08, 09:43 AM Well shes out today. Anybody have it yet? Any impressions? i wanna pull the trigger on this..but the non xbl co-op on indy kinda hurt my lego series appeal.
Moosebox 09-23-08, 10:51 AM I'll be picking this up today with my girlfriend. We've enjoyed playing all the past Lego games so this one should be no different. I'll give some impressions later, but I can't imagine it not being a fun relaxing coop game. The lack of online coop hurts though, as I'm not sure playing this alone is as fun... but if you're a big lego or batman fan then I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
irmoballen 09-23-08, 12:34 PM This game is awesome. Maybe because I'm a huge Batman fan, idk. Maybe it's that random Danny Elfman scores from Batman and Batman Returns are playing throughout the game. Either way it also has almost every (bigger) Batman character in it so unlocking them all will be a blast! I played through the first two levels last night and can't wait to go through the rest (and the villian campaigns!).
antwon412 09-23-08, 12:57 PM i will be picking it up today for me and my 4 yr old son hes not done with indy yet, so i will hold onto it for a while before i give it to him
LR6AGB001 09-23-08, 04:02 PM I played a bit of this today with my nephew and so far it's alright. More difficult than Lego Indy I can tell you that. But then again I was dead tired while playing it.
jasonstiller 09-23-08, 04:13 PM any new innovations or is it the same stuff as starwars?
LR6AGB001 09-23-08, 04:22 PM Well there are different sets of threads for both Batman & Robin. The first level you pick up a demolition bat suit which allows ol' Batsy to place chargers around to detonate much like Jango or Boba Fett. Robin had a tech suit which operated a toy vehicle to open certain doors. There is about 10-12 suits to collect. Other than that it's pretty much the same.
rsingleton 09-24-08, 02:05 PM I played through the first five levels last night and enjoyed it. It is very similiar to the Star Wars & Indy games - more of the same. If you liked those, you'll probably like Batman.
BOSS10L 09-24-08, 04:16 PM I figured it out. Thanks!
antwon412 09-24-08, 04:52 PM i know this is going to sound a little dumb.....but could you try and put stuff like that in spoiler tags? im soon to start this with my son and i like going in "fresh"
thanks!
