From Gamestop of all places:

Turn your living room into a state of the art arcade arena! Join operatives Giorgio and Evan to investigate and prevent a top secret weapon from falling into the hands of international terrorists.

The latest and most advanced title in the popular Time Crisis series is now arriving on the PS3. Time Crisis 4 delivers the first and only arcade style interactive first-person shooter (FPS) gaming experience on the next gen console with HD quality graphics. Superior to its arcade counterpart, Time Crisis 4 is reborn with additional new free roaming FPS stages along with a new and improved Guncon. In addition to future downloadable content, Time Crisis 4 brings a fresh new look that will carry the series into the next generation.

So, what would the pecking order be for control in first person shooters if this is a success? Light gun > mouse/kb > analog stick?

BTW, I know the arcade game is on rails, but the description above clearly says free roaming sections will be added to the PS3 translation (plus the graphics will be improved).

Time Crisis is pretty good. I'd love to see a PS3 Point Blank game though. Those were some of the best light gun games I've ever played. Excellent party games.

Can't wait for their redesigned Guncon. They've always been of high quality. I don't think the old Guncons work on High Def displays either so this will be nice.

Well I hope it will work with projectors and recoil when you shoot would be cool also.

This sounds better suited to the Wii honestly. Maybe that's their new Guncom, a lightgun in one hand and some kind of thumbstick controller in the other.

They don't work on projection displays or LCDs (or plasmas I assume). Hopefully that will change for the new models.

Yeah sucks that it doesn't work with projection, plasma, lcd type displays.

I found this out the hardway, bought I think it was Time Crisis 3 on PS2 for friend's birthday and only to find out it wouldn't work with their DLP (projection) tv. Thankfully store I bought it from took it back even though it was opened. Ended up getting them a different game, although I forget what it was now lol.

Sure hope they can get this next version to work with HD tvs.

If they didn't it would be worthless to release it on the PS3.
