View Full Version : Double Agent release pushed back...
SteelRush 03-28-07, 12:51 PM I was hoping to catch a review of the game, and found the Gamestop link now shows a different release date:
http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=270055
Looks like we'll be waiting another week to get our stealth on. :(
EDIT* - It was evidently a glitch on Gamestop's end, because the game was released on 3/30 and is in stores.
riffjim4069 03-28-07, 01:32 PM I was going to pick-up a copy after work...can you tell me the new release date (firewall)?

"Pre-Release Ships 4/5/2007"
JackBau3r 03-28-07, 01:51 PM son of a bitch. i was going to pick this game up also today.
Conspiracy* 03-28-07, 03:15 PM This is what throws me off. They know that its horrible PR to push back games. This game is DONE theres nothing they are doing in the last week before release, these games are packaged and waiting to be shipped. They've already printed to disk...what gives?

There's still 1000 things that can go wrong even after disks are pressed and warpped.

They are ready to go. Those 1000 things can happen on any given release day. Im just sick of hearinga bout delays to better the experience.
Slordak 03-28-07, 04:31 PM In many cases, the delays are to better the sales figures, not the end-user experience. Launching certain weeks can yield additional thousands of sales, depending on what other titles are coming out that week and what other major events are going on.
instantpop 03-28-07, 04:32 PM Yeah, I was going to pick this up today, too. Much to my dismay, Vegas has been delayed for another month (now 5/22). What is Ubi doing these days? Saddens me every time I look at the literature that came with my launch PS3 saying "Rainbow Six: Vegas Available Now."
I'm Resistanced to death. I need something new. NBA 2K7 is still loads of fun as is Motorstorm, but I need something else. It's times like these I really wish a game like Oblivion would float my boat.

Oblivion is tight dog!!!
It really is a good game...and i am glad they took their time with it...
mooshoo 03-28-07, 07:56 PM Hmm. It seems like Ubisoft has really been shafting its customers as of late. Practically all of their shooter titles like Double Agent, R6Vegas and GRAW2 has been postponed and delayed so many times it's pathetic. On top of that, if you go to their respective website forums, you find a lot of angry people pissed off about buggy gameplay, and completely unresponsive customer service. Ubi developers deleting legit complaints don't help either.
I'm saddened by it, as I was really looking forward to these titles from Ubi, but I will tell you this: As a result of their actions (or lack of), I won't be purchasing any ubisoft games anymore.
Anubis2005X 03-28-07, 10:37 PM Does anyone know what version of Double Agent this is? For example, I heard that the Xbox version of Double Agent was a lot better than the Xbox 360 version...
R6 vegas is now delayed to!!! WTF! Im really f'n pissed off, I really regret buying the PS3 now, as sad as it is to say. What incentive did I have to buying it at launch, the games out aint that great and the blu ray movies out now are not really must haves that would make me say "wow im glad I got my PS3". What real incentive does someone have now to buy one at this time?
expect delays to be the norm for the first half year (or even a year) for PS3 titles. the ps3 is completely new tech and is completely new to developers, so it will take time to get the hang of it. developing for the PS3 will be made easier, and it will start with the new PlayStation Edge dev tools that were just released recently.
i hate to say it, but its kind of your own fault for buying a ps3 at launch expecting a bunch of games to be available from the get go. its not like the ps3 has no games right now... resistance, f1, motorstorm, vf5, oblivion, GT:HD and more, are all great games and there are more soon to come. if you regret buying the ps3, return it or sell it. simple as that. there are plenty of good titles coming this year, and even better titles coming next year. you should have waited until the games you want to play get released.
and please, don't say that there aren't any "must have" blu-ray movies, because there are plenty out right now.
Kysersose 03-30-07, 10:30 AM Keep the format bashing out of this thread.
SteelRush 03-30-07, 12:55 PM This is odd, now the game is showing to be backordered. Has this game actually been released, or is there just another delay?
IeraseU 03-30-07, 01:13 PM It was released today, oddly enough.
JackBau3r 03-30-07, 01:27 PM It's out? LOL. Niiiiiiice. I'll pick up the game tommorrow.
exuser02 03-30-07, 11:21 PM My copy shipped today. so I should have it on monday.
SteelRush 03-31-07, 11:35 AM I just called my local Gamestop, and they do have the game in stock. It was released on 3/30, and should be in stores today. I edited my original post to reflect this.
