If your starting from scratch and you have around 1-1.5k to spend on a new system what would you go for? I am mainly looking for clarity in sound and would like to put more money into the head unit than anything else. No GPS is necessary as I have my Dell Axim to take care of that, but I would like to have a stereo input for my Axim to connect. If price allows I would like a 10" woofer too.

You've probably never heard of them, but they win alot of SQ competitions.

For amp I'd go with Alpine or the equivolent.

For sub amp I'd go with hifonics

For teh sub I'd go with a TC SOund 10" or 12" db-500
