Has anyone noticed a problem finding the new releases that come out every Tuesday on Netflix? Clicking on "New Releases" doesn't do it for me usually. For example, I could find the HD DVD version of The Good Shepherd nowhere, or SD either for that matter. I could only locate it by searching. Otherwise I am very pleased with NetFlix.

Does anyone know a website that lists the Tuesday debut DVDs a little in advance? That way I can just use Search on their site.

Netflix sucks really hard. Neither Blockbuster or Netflix are useful in getting the newest releases in HD DVD delivered to you. I don't understand your guy's patience with Netflix, I hate that I have to return them in the mail and wait anywhere from 5-8 days to get another movie.

I do like Blockbuster online though. They send you out the movies, give you a coupon for a free game or movie immediately after signing up so that you can use their services immediately. I live in Columus, OH and the nearest shipping facility for HD DVD is less than 60 miles away. With Netflix I ordered We Were Soldiers and had to wait a week because it shipped out of San Jose, CA.

Also with Blockbuster you can return your movies to the store and get free freaking rentals! I am impatient in waiting for movies and Blockbuster sees that.

I got Happy Feet BD from Netflix shipped on Monday and in my mailbox on release day. They've been pretty good for me so far, only a few movies haven't been availble immediately when the hit the top of my queue.

I guess it depends on where you live - my Netflix movies come from 3 or 4 distribution centers and I typically get them the day after they're sent - at worst 2 days.

I dont understand why everyone likes the blockbuster thing... if its so much easier and faster to take it back to the store then why use an online service at all....

I netflix but to tell the truth dont use it much. Only use it to order HD and BR titles that I didnt think were actually worth purchasing outright. So I'm in no real hurry when I do place them on order.

I got Happy Feet and Relentless Enemies yesterday also. I mailed my movies back on Monday and on Wednesday I got the above HD DVD plus some standard disc. I have to wait sometime for HD disc but otherwise I am extremely satisfied with Netflix and have no thoughts of trying another service.

I have nothing but good things to say about Neftlix. I always get new releases on Tues(shipped on Mon). It only takes them 1 day to receive it. I ship it back Wed, they get on Thurs and send me another and I receive it on Fri.

I have nothing but bad things to say about BB. I had a lot of trouble with them. For what its worth, I'm in the Minneapolis area.

I have 'Happy Feet' and 'Children of men' at home right now. It came out on tues. and shipped weds. Plenty fast. If you want more movies, buy a bigger package. But Anybody that has even half a life and works for a living, can just watch only so many movies in a week. I mean, if you want to constantly watch movies that bad, might as well buy a movie ticket and "screen hop" all weekend. Your mental state may be in serious jeopardy by the end of it though. :)

As far as the A.D.D. goes, Get a girlfriend, or play Counter strike, that usually helps melt the hours away. :)

Actually, I want everyone to think that netflix sux for HDdvd so that way I can get all my movies in my que right away and never have "short wait" or "long wait" next to my selection. :cool:

My experience has been very different with Netflix. If I mail back a movie on a Monday, it is received by them on Tuesday, and I receive a replacement movie on Wednesday, whether an SD DVD or an HD-DVD. Rarely is there a delay of several days between movies, with the caveat that they do not processs anything on Saturdays (or Sundays).

Same here. I can mail back a disc today, Netfix will get it tomorrow and I'll get my next movie on Saturday.

My movies are mailed back to a distribution center about 90 miles from me.

I suspect it depends on how far you live from the nearest distribution center. Mine is very close by (within 30 miles).

BillYou have to wait till Sunday night to see the new releases on Netflix. If you know of a new release, just type the name in the search box and you will see the movie. If you add it to your queue, it will give you the date of release. The releases are almost always on Tuesday, but Netflix will ship it on Monday if available and you have a movie freed up. Just mail back your 'watched' movie on Friday or Saturday (depending on how fast your mail gets delivered) and you get the new release. I'm about @ 50% for HD-DVD releases however. I didn't get COM or HF, but I wanted to buy them anyway.

I had fairly good service in Boston, and about a year ago moved coasts to Manhattan Beach, CA. Our netflix turnaround is very fast, if I put it in the mail on Saturday, I'll have a new disc Tuesday.

I usually mail them back, but if I want it to get in the system early I will sometimes take it to the store. The $6 per month deal for Blockbuster is quite a steal for a lot of us IMO, since I can get up to 2 discs per month (one at a time) and also get a coupon for one free game (or movie) in the store. The games alone cover the $6 for me and sometimes I can get a disc from Blockbuster that I'm having trouble getting from Netflix. I do use Netflix for a lot more though. I do have to be careful not to put the discs in the wrong package, as I did that once (sent a Blockbuster disc to Netflix) and I had to buy another one and send that in.
