I generally use a lot of rechargeable batteries and have been using a lot of AA size cells bought from Sams/Costco. Recently I found another source for them. I thought of sharing my good experience (here) with a little known seller of rechargeable batteries.

Back in January 2007, I had to go for a long trip abroad. I was taking my Sony Discman along with a headroom headphone amplifier. The amp takes 9 volt batteries which are very expensive. Hence I looked around for rechargeable ones. Through a Google search I found them cheapest at all-battery.com. I had never heard anything about them so I was naturally a little cautious ;) , but the good ratings at this site assured me. :)

I ordered a kit "Plug-in Type Speedy NiMH & NiCd Charger with four 9V 250mAh Batteries".

It was a fantastic deal. It was much, much cheaper at their site than anywhere else on the net. After that I waited gingerly and was very pleased to find a box at my doorstep just 3 days after the order. Their shipping department must be very efficient! :D

The charger is a very sturdily made item and was in a nice bubble pack. It plugs right into the wall socket and charges all the usual sizes of batteries. I like the nice timer feature of the charger which indicates when the batteries are fully charged. Another good thing is that you can charge batteries in sets of two. In my old charger...we had to charge 4 batteries together.

The 9 volt batteries are very nice and powerful too ! They last a long time; it seems to me that they last longer than the cheap dry cell type 9 v batteries. Of course the alkaline ones have higher mAh so they probably last longer. But then they are so much more expensive!

I only wish for two things:
(1) I wish they had the 9 volt charger circuit switches off automatically; just like the one for AA and AAA batteries.

(2). I wish they made a charger which was usable worldwide. I did use this charger in India, but had to use a voltage converter.

Overall my experience with all-battery was very good. I will certainly look at them first if I want to buy some more batteries. In fact I may order some AA batteries for my son’s toys soon from their site. :p

I know them too, they are good but quite expensive, if compared to all-battery.com

My local Vons (aka Safeway, Carrs, Casa Ley, Dominick's, Genuardi's, Pak 'n' Save, Pavilions, Randall's Food Markets, Simon David, Tom Thumb Food & Pharmacy) carries 4-pack Duracell 2650mAh AA NiMH batteries, $14 and change and no shipping to hassle with, my kind of deal
