Posted this in HD-DVD forum as well but wanted to get some feedback from the games section since it does apply to xbox 360
I currently own a PS3 and an onkyo txsr604 receiver that allows me to get the wonderful uncompressed PCM audio from the PS3 to receiver via HDMI. One thing that has held me back from doing the HD-dvd attachment for my xbox 360 is the lack of HDMI therefore lack of ever getting dolby truehd or other hd sound formats. Does anyone know now that the xbox 360 ELITE is coming out with an HDMI, will there be support for passing high def audio through the HDMI? And if so, will xbox decode the signal and send as PCM similar to PS3 (since no reciever actually supports procesing Dolby Truehd signal)?
