I've found it on ProjectorPeople.com.

imwoblin 03-29-07, 06:00 PM I am ready to make the jump from a 4805 to the HD1000U. Can you please point me in the right direction on where to purchase?
Anybody want a 80 hour basically new 4805?
Where can I buy it in Canada? PM please.

goaler029 03-30-07, 02:58 AM I'm very interested in the Mits, as well. Probably buying in 3 to 4 weeks. Any recommendation of who to deal with are appreciated.
Please let me know as well. I'm in the US. Thanks!
MurphyAgain 03-30-07, 11:38 AM IF there is a better price then pp with the discount code could someone pm me the info aswell.

Fahtrim 03-30-07, 11:40 AM I am also interested in one of these.
Thanks,

klipsch 03-30-07, 11:43 AM I am interested as well
Just4HT 03-30-07, 12:04 PM I too am nearing the point of pulling the trigger on the hd1000 - I have a 4805 that has served us well for the last couple of years, but with 3000+ hours on the lamp, it is time to either buy a new lamp, or buy a new projector...I've pretty much convinced myself that I want to move up to 720i and I like what I've heard thus far about the hd1000.
I too would appreciate any insight on where to get the best price on one.
i will be purchasing a mitsubishi 1000u projector very soon and would appreciate a pm as to where to purchase for the best price. the sale price for avsforum members at pp is ending soon. is there a better price than this? cheers.

topfuel6 03-30-07, 12:25 PM I would like to add this projector to a finished basement (20x25) with no ambient light to worry about. I'd appreciate some guidance about buying a package of the MIT-HD1000U, mounting fixture, and a fixed screen?
Please PM me and/or post links to threads or sites I may have missed.
Thanks.
Traveler_999 03-30-07, 01:57 PM I am just about to pull the trigger on one of these bad boys and am also looking for a complete package. Projector, screen, mount, cables.
One more question to those who know. With my ceiling height, I will have the 92" screen about 24" from the floor, top being around 70". Does this seem to be a good height for HT screen?
Also, if I raise the screen a tad (by god forbid, tilting), how much would slight keystone affect the PQ?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Traveler!

Don't let them fool you ... call next week, or the week after that and tell them you're an AVS Forum member and would appreciate an extension on the promo for AVS Forum members.
You'll be good to go.
Don't forget to ask for free shipping (which is a "norm" for AVS Forum members)
dslunceford 03-30-07, 03:41 PM I haven't heard back from Yvonne at AVS yet, but after checking out some of the places people PMd, Projector People have beaten the prices when calling in and mentioning AVS....
I was looking at their deal on the HD70 w/92" screen, but am now leaning toward the HD1000u with larger screen for just a couple hundred more....
prime21 03-30-07, 05:30 PM Just call them and tell them you are an AVS forum member and that you heard of other members getting the PJ from them for $840 total (shipping included). They will sell it to you for that price. Thats what i did and i just got my PJ after only 2 days.
Can't beat PP in my opinion. Plus their reputation is excellent for handling any problems you may have.
SuprSonik 03-31-07, 03:31 AM I'm about to order the HD1000U as well...I would greatly appreciate the PM explaining what I can do to get a better price :)
Thanks.
Alan Gouger 03-31-07, 04:08 PM Yvonne is not expected back to the office until Monday evening. Sorry for the delay!!
She will follow up as soon as she returns :)
Anyone in a hurry our forum sponsor ProjectorPeople can take your order :)
imblind 03-31-07, 04:29 PM i got mine from projectorpeople, EXCELLENT service.
I just ordered, and they said there was no $840 deal, ever. They would not give me that deal. They would only do the normal web price, plus the save50 coupon for $864. ???? :(
jeffropaige 04-02-07, 11:58 AM projector people is a great place ive order several pjs from them and will always return. customer service is top notch in my opinon. jeff
Phaffendorf 04-02-07, 12:02 PM I would appreciate a PM as well! I'm from Canada.
my65ffrcobra 04-02-07, 08:55 PM I did the save50 coupon online with projector people. $864 to my door it was easy no games and arrived quickly. They even gave a follow up call and the picture looks great even at 137 inches :)
Legairre 04-04-07, 02:26 PM While the $868 price from projectionguys is great they don't show up as an authorized dealer on the Mitsubishi dealer locator. You can get it for $875 shipped from an authorized dealer, but we're not supposed to mention the names. If anyone wants the name of the authorized dealer pm me. BTW I'm not affiliated with the dealer I just found them doing a google and checking in the Mitsubishi dealer locator.

In addition ... are they AVS Forum sponsors?
If you can get the same thing, for the same price, from an AVS Forum sponsor ... why wouldn't someone support the very forum that they go to for advice?
Legairre 04-04-07, 04:14 PM No they are not a sponsor. I would have suggested a sponsor like projector people, but the $50 discount is over and that would make the unit from projector people cost more than the dealer I was referring to. I'm actually all for supporting AVS and their sponsors, but not if it cost more money. I can't speak for others, but I'd like to find the unit at the lowest possible price from an authorized dealer and I'm just trying to help others do the same.
If the unit was from a forum sponsor for the same price I would never suggest another dealer.
philiprst 04-05-07, 06:49 AM I just bought a HD1000U from Projector People and the salesperson said that they had extended the save50 discount for avsforum members until the end of April. I can't speak for Projector People or avsforum but I think you will get the -$50 if you simply call and ask. I was very happy with their service: courteous and prompt with no hint of upselling.

You guys, AVS Forum members, are such a strong part of the sucess of ProjectorPeople ... unless they REPLACE the promotion with something better ... they would never claim a in-house promotion had "ended" for an AVS Forum member. You guys hold more weight than you may imagine in this industry.
All you have to do is ask ;)

You don't need a PM..."READ MY LIPS"...Call or email Projector people and tell them you are an AVS Forum member and you heard you can get the HD1000 for $845 shipped..They WILL honor that.
Mandy_Roppo 04-09-07, 05:13 AM I got mine there with a $50 off coupon. It was some of the best money I ever spent. It looks really good.

Now its $845 huh? What happened to the $840 deal??
And what members are getting it for that? I got mine for the normal $50 off for AVS members. Anyway, to everyone else who is looking to order, dont count on these deals from prime21 being real. If PP says $50 off is what AVS members get, that's what we get. That's what I got, and am very happy with them. Ordered Monday, received Wednesday, installed Friday. I'll post pics soon.

I don't think there was an $840 price -- when I inquired I was told that was for a projector that was returned that had less than 10 hours on the bulb. Don't know where $845 came from either. If you go to PP and add the projector to your cart, take $50 off of that and that's what it will ship for.
I shopped 10 dealers and though I only found a couple of outlets that could match the PP price; gave my biz to a sponsor.

I still have my invoice that says $845 and a return email from PP stating that they would honor the $845 that i told them folks had been getting it for. If i had a way to post my invoice i here, i would love to make you eat your words. Anyone know how i could show a copy of my invoice (i have a copier, but dont know how to post a pic to a site)
BTW, if you were referring to me as saying $840 before, i never said that and if i did, it was a typo...I got mine 2 weeks ago for $845 and all i did was email them and told them that i had heard of others getting it for that price shipped and i would like one...They emailed me back and said they'd honor that price...I then called them the next day and told him about the email and he looked it up and said "ok".
Sorry that you didnt get that price Mark, but don't knock those of us that did and say that we didn't...I'm only trying to help other folks get the great deal that i did.
Also, my PJ had 0 hours on it when i got it so it was BRAND NEW...Maybe the trick is to CALL them instead of ordering online..I dunno...Then again, maybe i got lucky.
Eat what words? Im just posting my experience. Your first post said $840, your 2nd post said $845. I called, and told them exactly what you told me to tell them. It didnt work. They denied the deal, so I sent them an email to this thread. They mentioned they had OPEN BOX items and DEMOs in that range. But that has nothing to do with being an AVS member, or getting a new unit with 0 hrs for that price. They had demo units listed on the web for $843.
Im not knocking anyone, or even saying you didnt get such a deal. Im saying, to everyone else, as you seem to be the ONLY person who got the deal, that if you call up PP, DONT expect to get a new unit for $840, or $845. They are $864 shipped.

Well then, I apologize for the last post...But you kind of made it sound like i was trying to lie or something..Thats how i took it anyway. So i'm sorry.
The salesman that i emailed and dealt with was named Michael Norton...His email is Michael@projectorpeople.com ....I would suggest sending him an email and telling him that you heard of other AVS forum members getting it for 845 and you'd like that deal too... Thats exactly what i did just 2 weeks ago and they sold it to me for 845 shipped...Maybe it's just him doing this deal or maybe he is a manager or something...All i know is thats the deal i got and hopefully others can also.

mpkelley20 04-10-07, 03:24 PM yeah.. I ordered mine on 4/9 and it was $849 shipped. Why the difference between the $849 and $864?

I think if you order online and use the code, shipping may still apply??? For those at $864, was that an online or phone order price?
David Rubenstein 04-10-07, 04:40 PM If you go to their site, sign up for an account, and then request a quick quote on the projector, you get free shipping and 5% off accessories. This, combined with the $50 off, is how you get to the $849 shipped.
Dale300 04-10-07, 10:02 PM Hi MY65ffrcobra
What 137" screen are you using for your Mits HD 1000 projector?
Is it still bright or do you have to set the lamp to High?
I just orderd one and was looking for a white High contrast screen in a full
light controlled room.

My $849 order was over the phone. Sales guy's name was Rich and he was very helpful.
$849 shipped on the phone today. Picked one up for a friend ( I already have one).

Circuitcity online has it for $920 or $828 after AAA 10% coupon w/free(+$37 shipping) 80 inch screen. But the tax kills the deal.
T_MINTON 04-12-07, 07:56 AM Are you guys really arguing over a lousy $5- $16 dollars..geez...I can drink that at dinner...The real issue is that you guys found a great deal on a sub $1000 PJ.
SO I have to ask..would you guys choose this PJ over a RUNCO CL-410??? I am asking becasue I can get one for under $1500 locally. With RUNCO's reputation I thought this may be a way to get CIH with a higher end PJ. Am I wrong in my thinking here???

Is the Runco projector you mentioned a high def projector? I checked the specs and the native resolution seems to fall below the minimum 720p. It is also an older model that came out in 2005. Not sure if that makes a difference compared to newer products (I am not an expert) but I would think that some of these newer models such as the HD1000U with higher native resolution would have a better picture (with some variance among projectors, obviously). Couple that with a cheaper price tag and I can't understand why you would by the Runco. Al
Of course, I could be way off on my thoughts so don't rely on me to make your decision.
T_MINTON 04-12-07, 09:02 AM I appreciate your input. I don't want to be hung on a name. Quality was the first inclination. HD1000 seems a way to go..researching my options.

Phaffendorf 04-12-07, 03:22 PM If I order from PP to Canada... I'm not covered by warranty correct??

How much more is the replacement bulb warranty?
It sounds like majority of you guys do not get the $99 lamp warranty from projectorpeople. It sounds like a good deal to me? Do you guys get a warranty elsewhere?
Also I am a projector noob, Should I get some cables and a screen from them also with the warranty, also what about the "black cloth" should I get them there also. I have a small room where I have about 9ft of room and the room is very bright.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, so now that the save50 coupon is over, does anyone know of a better or equal upcoming deal?
You might try to call them up and ask if they will honor the deal.
acejhtwo 05-01-07, 08:13 PM circuit city has it for $919, and $179 for 4 year repair warranty with one bulb replacement, good deal considering the bulbs are over $300.
I saw a deal on an HD70 that came with a free 2 year lamp warranty, 1 year extended warranty on the projector, and a free 92" screen after MIR for about $900.
I was thinking about getting that deal but I would rather have an HD1000u. Does anyone know of a similar package deal on an HD1000u?
kenchar 05-01-07, 10:54 PM I have ordered from Projector People in the past and they are an excellent company to deal with. I usually talk to Ryan and he has been very helpfull in getting my HD1000U. The price was fantastic.
I am located in Canada and am prepared to ship the unit back to the US if it needs repair during the first year. (I live close enough to the border so it is no big deal) I was going to buy the warranty from them until I found the Mack Warranty that is International. I am purchasing a total of 4 years warranty and 3 years of bulb warranty.
Fortunately I have a US shipping address to send the projector to so that I can bring it across the border myself and clear it through customs. Of course I will have to pay PST and GST at that time.
As far as I know the Mitsubishi warranty will only cover the unit in the US.
If anyone in the lower mainland needs info on a US shipping address let me know and I can PM you.
I can hardley wait to get the projector.
Ken.
phatsua 05-02-07, 04:52 AM because of the opportunity i have decided to jump to a HD projector, I currently own a benq w100 for 2 months now with 300 hours on the lamp (my first personal PJ, i had some light use of some business one from work).
Because I have a friend traveling in the US (I am from E.Europe (romania)) and i found a buyer for my w100 I am ready to take the step to a 720p projector. I am considering the HD1000u besides the HD70 because i am projecting from 17.8 feet and I get 126" image on my w100. My main use of the projector is for ps3 and xbox360 and this is my i need a 720p one. the rest of the time, around 30% i watch SD DVD. Considering this is it worth the hassle of getting the HD1000u ? for the benq i payed around 950 us dollars here in my country and i can sell it for about 700 us dollars and i need to fork out about 250 more to get the hd1000u to my friend in the state. what do you guys think ?

user0001 05-25-07, 09:14 PM If you call them directly, they will also remove the shipping charge. Please PM
me if you find it cheaper than eight forty nine. BTW the save50 never left.
golffnutt 05-25-07, 10:34 PM Me too, could someone pm me on where to buy, thank you.
