I've learned a lot from this forum in the past few days! I knew nothing about audio/video. Picked up a LCD TV several months ago before finding this forum, and just bought a boxed audio system based on this forums recommendations.

I've got a basic question. I'm going to have my audio receiver on top of a piece of furniture that will sit below my wall mounted LCD TV. I'd like a housing that will fit over the receiver to keep dust out of the vent holes on top of the receiver. I'd also like it to have enough clearance to allow the receiver to cool. The receiver is 6" high, 17" wide and 14" deep. I'm thinking acrylic or something reasonably priced. It will not have to bear any weight. Strictly for keeping dust off. I'd like it to look nice also. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Just dust it every now & then. Don't like the idea of accidently fry the AV because of forgetting to remove the cover.

Cheers,
TP

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking of something that I could just leave in place and would allow enough clearance above the receiver. Picture a car in a garage, and the garage is open in the front and back. Something along those lines.

For a receiver, I still don't think that will do it. As tpham said, leave it uncovered and just dust it once in a while. That is best for it.
