I have never really gotten a clear answer on this. With hdmi finally becoming available- will I be able to display 1080p on my 50a2000 sxrd?

You've been getting 1080p, but I suppose your asking if it is being transported as 1080p.

The KDS50A2000 accepts 1080p over HDMI. If you have a game or HD-DVD that is in 1080p (most HD-DVD movies I think) you will get true 1080p, yes.

The only question remaining is... will the Xbox360 do a better job scaling/deinterlacing than your TV is already doing for non 1080p games?

I don't think that will be difficult for those that really want all the bliss of 1080P can find out.

That's a bold statement with absolutely no evidence to support it.
