Hello fellow enthusiasts :) I'm looking for greyscale values for a Panasonic Gaoo 31" tv. If it's not baroque don't fix it, well i happend to dable in the service menu, touching up greyscale and color decoding, however I don't remember what the factory original values were :(. Could anyone with this tv i know it's quite a dinosaur by today's standards give me any values that would put me in the ballpark, my greyscale is way off no matter what "tweaking" i did, it never became "grey". I would appreciate any help next to having it ISF calibrated. Default values off of this one webite, "calanan's panasonic service menu" don't work, as the value for GCUT is way to high it says to set it at "214"...

Chances are pretty good that the default factory settings would not give you good gray scale due to the age of the set and variance within the model. The set probably did not come from the factory with default settings anyway. Post the exact model number, however, and I will look to see if I have the manual.

The model number for the tv is CT-31XF23CU.

Convoluted site but you may find one there.

Good luck,

I have the 36" model and the service manual for the 32" model, 32XF37. Not sure how I can help though.

Todd Scott ,Can you post the greyscale values from the service manual of the 32inch model?, I need "Rcut , Gcut, Bcut" , "Rdrive and Bdrive", as well as the offsets for cool and warm.

I will do that for you tonight. I'm at work and don't have the manual with me. Hopefully it should give you a starting point from which to correct your greyscale because I'm sure the factory default settings will not give you the best picture.

I'll give the greyscale values a shot, I wouldn't mind "sub color/hue" and any for the color decoder as well. With this tv is "auto color" recommended to be off? I noticed that it effects "magenta, yellow and cyan". The set has red push when blue colorbars pattern is set correctly. Hue doesn't look right with the blue colorbars pattern set up, skin tones look to yellowish. How do i go about getting the colordecoder properly "balanced"? These are the values i'm looking for.
S5 R-Y Demodulation Angle
S6 R-Y Demodulation Gain this seems to effect mostly the blue part of the decoder eventhough it's supposed to be "red-in yellow", logic tells you there is no red in yellow.
