View Full Version : Which of these 3 projectors has the least amount of offset? bownes 03-30-07, 03:58 PM Mitsubishi HD1000 Optoma HD70 Optoma HD6800 Please and thanks! Cyrano 03-30-07, 04:08 PM The HD70 is less than the HD1000U (28% vs 34%, I think). I don't know about the HD6800. I have a 7ft ceiling in my HT and couldn't do the Mits. The HD70 just barely fit. But it fits and looks great. :D Good luck! bownes 03-30-07, 04:11 PM Yeah, my basement ceiling will end up being about 7.5 to 8 feet high. BassTek 03-30-07, 05:55 PM HD6800 has a variable offset between 32 (min zoom) and 37 (max zoom)%. It also has the vertical shift allowing you to move the picture up or down a certain amount, I think it's 16 pixels so it works out to a few inches. AUSSiE78 03-30-07, 08:01 PM I am building a theatre room in my basement and have decided on the HD1000. the ceilings will be less than 7.5 feet and have just less than 11 feet between the screen and the lens. According to the mitsu projector calculator I will end up with an image of 90 inches diag and 24 inches off the floor. I think this will be adequate for my veiwing. Unless you want a bigger picture (who doesn't) then it seems to be ok for the mitsu PJ. AUSSiE bownes 03-31-07, 06:12 PM Yea I guess it would depend on the size of the picture. I was wanting between 92 and 106 inches diag. |
