Nice!
How fluid is the iPod interface
Is typing on the virtual keyboard easy. My gf just bought and Audi with Nav and you have to "wheel" text in with the knob. Ugh :(
Did you get the Bluetooth option? I'm on Pioneers website trying to find out if it sincs addressbook info from a BT phone to the unit.
Ahhhhhhhh reading is fundamental
To make calling even more convenient, for certain compatible Bluetooth-enabled cell phones you can copy and store your numbers from the cell phone to your AVIC-D3’s internal phone book. Once you’re set up, you may never have to lay a finger on your cell phone to make a call in your vehicle again.
If performance is looking good this looks to be my new favorite choice for Nav systems. I'm glad the Bluetooth option is somewhat affordable as well.
I am looking for a system like this, and was looking into the Pioneer D3. How easy (if it is possible) is it to setup the steering wheel controls with the system? I have an 02 BMW 330 and need to spice it up a little but want a system where i can still use my steering wheel to up the volume, answer the phone, and change stations

I installed an AVIC-D3 in our 2004 Tahoe this past weekend.
XM tuner module, iPOD interface, BTB-100 (Bluetooth module) and steering wheel controls using the Peripheral enhancements PS-WEPS.
Overall I could not be more pleased with the outcome.
XM Tuner interface is fantastic. iPOD interface is easy to use and sounds crisp and clear. The Bluetooth hands free kit is easy to use and sounds good for the person on the other end of the call.
We took at 600 mile trip this past weekend and the NAV worked very well. The limitations of the single drive are overstated in my experience so far since the kids were watching DVD's the entire trip. We plotted out destination and then ejected the NAV DVD and the unit went into 'Nav Memory mode' while playing movies.
Ask away if you have any questions.

Brent is there a way to "feed" the output of the D3 to a rear screen for DVD movies?

can anyone provide more detail regarding the Sirius radio integration? Is it single-line or multi-line and how many characters can be displayed at once? thanks!

How does the BTB-100 work? I have a Motorola razor and would like hands-free operation. Where did you put the microphone?
I'm wondering if a doubleDIN NAV unit will come out with BT integrated, no add-on required.

they actually just came out with the BTB200 (updated compatibility, reduced echo) which i have in my car and it works great. From what others have said it works great with most motorola phones. it works great with my blackberry pearl i have hands free, call timer, signal and battery meters, address book transfer, call log etc. best hands free calling hands down its nice when im driving with loud music so i dont ever miss calls or have to take my hands off the wheel.
