I Want To Transfer My Vcr Tapes To My Hdd And To A Dvd-r, But My Video Tapes Are Of Football Games That Are 90 Minutes Long Or 3 Hours. My Question Is How Do I Transfer Stuff From My Built-in Vcr To The Hdd And Or Dvd? Thanks For Any Information.

Thee should be a simple dubbing button on the remote. VHS>HDD. Set the record speed to SP for anything less than 2 hours, or LP for anything near 3 hours. Then press the VHS>HDD button, and keep pressing it to set recording time.
Once on the hdd, you can edit out ads if you wish, set chapter marks, before dubbing to a disc.
Have you checked the manual/

Some additional suggestions to Westly's good suggestions.
Make sure you enable high speed dubbing using the disc /recording options settings in the Setup menu. This will allow you to make high speed, exact duplicate DVD-R copies when dubbing from the HDD.
Also, you may want to try FR mode recording for your 3 hr. tapes. You set the FR record mode to whatever the duration of the tape is in hours and minutes. For a 3 hr tape, this will create a recording with a bitrate in between SP (2hr) and LP (4hr) mode. The improved quality of FR mode may or may not be very noticeable to you (you should experiment to see what works/looks best for you).
Finally, many people here feel that anything less than SP or even XP mode is not acceptable for archiving sporting events. In that case, they record to the HDD in the best mode desired (SP or XP mode) then divide up the event on the HDD (using the divide function) into DVD sized chunks (2hrs for SP or 1 hr for XP) so that they can then dub the event to multiple discs.
Once again, experimentation is required on your part to determine if you really need the higher quality SP or XP mode for your football tapes or can live with LP.
Good luck.
