Can you buy these things? the kid in the bestbuy said they aren't for sale, they get them when they receive their products and what not.
I seen a few sites online just talking about them, didn't see any for sale...
any clue?
the one he showed me was the DTS dvd #9
had some really good stuff on it. sound was excellent on that thing.
I have worked two retail stores and in both we just contacted DTS to get the most recent version.
If you want to get one the easiest way is to look on Ebay, as they are up there all the time.
Jared

Who wants to buy a disc with clips from movies anyways.
You probably own most of the movies that are on the demo disc anyways

They are collector's items. One of the reasons is that the genuine DTS Demo DVD's have full bitrate audio tracks. Most commercial releases use only 754k.

I see.
And yet you won't be able to tell the difference.
The compression isn't don't on the audio frequency range. So you're still getting 20-20k.
Collectors items! Didn't know that. I've got some bottle caps i've been collecting :)
Seriously though, i've got a few of these discs. I used to work for sound advice.
You can pick them up from CC or BB. I mean, you walk in, pick up the disc, walk out.
LOL

Well, whether you believe they are collectible or not, they sell for $30-$70 regularly on ebay. Also, I wouldn't recommend stealing anything from your local electronics store.

I bought a Belkin PF30 to try out back when it was first released and they had a voucher for a free DTS Sampler 8 DVD inside. I think some of the Acoustic Research products were doing a similar promotion. Never bought a disc off ebay though...

those are demo disks showing clips with dts capabilities.
just the time saving in taking out different full length movies to show dts is worth it

If you work for a company where you are trying to sell DTS capable gear you can go onto the DTS website and request a few discs. They'll grant it if you work for a legit business
