Hey,

I just wanted to check in so see what people thought of my seating configuration. My total room width is about 171". I plan on having two rows of seating with access (the aisle) to the second row on both sides of row #1.

I originally thought that I was going to get 088's but they were too low with respect to the head rest for my tastes. With 088's, I thought that I could use 4 chairs in each row.

Since then, I've been considering the 090's. I was thinking of using two fully armed recliners (47's) with the chair and a half in the middle (175?). I think that brings with row width to 115". I believe that this leaves about 28" of walkway on either side.

Please let me know what you think and offer some alternatives if they come to mind.

Thanks,
T.Wells

You may want to check out the Berkline 45004's -- they have a similar width to the 088's, but also provide a taller back height of 41.5".

For width example: Model 088-47 = 31.5" Model 45004-3900 = 34"

Also, if you have not seen a reference to it yet on the AVS forums, there is an incredible AVS Power Buy being offered by Ultimate Home Entertainment on Berklines.

The 090-50 is a 35" wide seat, and it is great for 2 kids, but two adults may find it being it too tight for this space. The 28" isle is pretty good though.

I would also recommend the 45003s if you like the 090s. They are the exact same chair except for the back which has a cushion on it at the head so it is like a pillow. Definately a nice choice, I have 3! Seating sounds pretty good although with the 45003 there is no 1.5 seat. I would definately get the power recline though, it's a must and the Buttkickers are amazing, but do come at an extra price.

My wife and I sat in a 090-50 and she loved it. She is pretty small so it worked out okay. She wanted something in the theater where we could sit close and the 090-50 fit the bill pretty well without having to do a full love seat. I just wish the 45004's had that option.

Yup, this really does help. I may switch to 45004's as when we (wife and I) sat in 088's the width was fine, the height was an issue for me.

I am now thinking of going with two straight rows of four (center love seat in first row).

My best friend purchased from Roman in the fall. I've seen the current powerbuy but I am still about 2-months away from pulling the trigger.

I have two rows of 45004s to seat 7 (four in front and 3 in the back). See my Gallery link in my Signature for pictures.

The basic configuration is:
|OOO|
|O|OO|O|

with the idea being that I can switch the first row to two loveseats if I want:

|OO||OO

My room is 15' wide.

And, I purchased these from Roman (rsh)...

It looks as if Roman has ended the Berkline Power Buy for the AVS Forum members. It was suppose to end in the middle of March, but was still being offered even past the end of March.

Maybe it will be available again this summer?

I hope that there will be another Power Buy during the summer. It should be about when I am ready to make my purchase.

I am still considering my options but it looks like the 45004's may be a winner.
