I have a firewire cord that I've been using to get video from my Mini DV camcorder in the past to my PC.

Now I have a Mac Mini I'm trying to do the same but I'm not seeing the port on my Mac anywhere. Nothing is that small on the mini?

Does the Mac have a different port or am I required to use USB 2.0?

EDIT: NVM looks like I have a 4 pin to 4 pin and I need a 4pin to 6pin.

I don't have a Mac Mini, but every Mac I own has one or more FireWire jacks included. I connect my mini-DV camcorder via FireWire and use iMovie to view and edit the movies/files.

You may have the wrong cable. There should be a small firewire port on the camera and a large port on the mini.

Correct. You're going to need a 4-pin/6-pin Firewire cable. Don't overpay for it. You can get them for under $5.

Check monoprice.com, however, with shipping charges, you might want to take care of some other cable, wire needs at the same time. I've always found that you can never have enough cords and cables for that "rainy day".
