Hello,
my Mac and SA 3250HD cable box are on opposite ends of my rec room. I temporarily moved the box close to my Mac to try recording via firewire and the results were amazing, iRecord is awesome. I thought about extending a firewire cable via a repeater(s) to get to the 50 feet I would need, but that would be an expensive way to go. I would likely be better off just buying another SA 3250 box. My question is how to I watch the 3250 on my Mac? I've tried iMovie and it doesn't seem to recognize the signal coming from the SA3250. I've also tried BTV pro, an old app, but it should work. Does anyone have a solution, or should iMovie be working?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this has been addressed previously.
Steve

If you are talking about watching "live" the best bet at this point is to just initiate a recording with the app of your choice, and immediately start watching the recorded file with VLC/whatever so you are 5-10s behind live (not unlike watching "live" on a DVR that also buffers). You can continue watching as the file grows. Then stop and delete the recorded file when you are done.
