Hello, I am trying to calibrate my BenQ8700+ using my new SpyderTV Pro and so far things have gone well. That is until I hit the Gains & Cuts calibration. My first problem is just defining what settings RGB Gains and RGB Cuts actually are. I have access to my service menu and under color managment, there are listings for Gamma, Gamma Gain, and GAmma Offset. I assumed that Gain=Gain and Offset=cuts, but I cannot get the gains adjustment to calibrate. In the default factory settings they are already at max(512) and as I get close to RGB balance, I find I need more blue but am already at max. Am I doing something wrong here? I am not even sure is I am using the right controls for gain.

If any of you have any experience with this, I would lovge to pick your brains. I have been using DVD calibration for almost 8 years and really wanted to go to the next step, but I can't seem to find the answers anywhere.

Thanks for helping a poor lost soul here.

I'm not an "expert" when it comes to calibration but i am a believer seeing with my own eyes of what a greyscale calibration can do for a tv's picture quality, it's awesome :) Firstly the "gamma" settings have nothing to do with "Drives and Cuts", you need to look for "Drives/Cuts" listed as "Rdrive, Gdrive and Bdrive" and for "cuts", "Rcut, Gcut and Bcut" aka red drive , green drive and blue drive and red cut , green cut and blue cut" these are the settings you need to adjust to set up your greyscale, drives effect the high end and cuts the low end , they interact with one another as well.
