Hurtful Goat

I always hear people say you should use a seperate amp for your speakers, especially components. But as I was looking at some, I noticed most of them have a sensitivity of around 90dB. Are these really going to be that bad with a 18w HU amp? Something else I was wondering about components: Is there a way to do something about the fact that the tweeter is closer and more on-axis to you than the woofer? It seems to me this would make the speaker really bright, and I hate bright speakers. Is there a way to compensate for this?
On other notes, how important is it to get front and rear speakers from the same brand? What about drving aftermarket coaxials with the HU amp? Last, but not least, if I do decide to use outboard amps for both the front and back, would it be better to use a pair of 2ch amps, or a single 4ch amp?(My HU does have seperate pre-outs for the front and back speakers)
BTW, these will be used for hard rock/metal, at somewhere around 80-85dB. They won't have a sub right away, but one will be added later once I have the money.
