My old DVD player used to have an audio delay so that the sound would better match the TV, but my HD DVD and Blu-ray players don't seem to have this option. Some way or other I would like to delay 2-channel audio to get it to better match the video without replacing my amplifier (which only has analog inputs). I thought I might be able to just get a used surround sound preamp and use it to delay 2 channel audio, but from the information I've looked at on different models I'm not sure if that would work. I have seen the Felston or Alchemy2 delays online, yet I would still need a DAC. By that point it's starting to get expensive enough that I figure there has to be either a cheaper or more upgradeable way to do this.
