I need two TV's in the next few months. I've made up my mind (I think) on my larger set - Panasonic 58" 1080P. My dilemma is for the 50" that I am needing as well. Would you suggest to get the new Panasonic 50" 720P or the new Hitachi P50H4011 1080P model. The resolution on the Hitachi is wierd 1280 x 1080. Unfortunately, I have to purchase the 50" models sight unseen as I live in a remote area. The Hitachi is $200 less than the Panny, but does that reflect on the image? I know that every Panny Plasma that I've ever seen has been outstanding.

Thanks for the input everyone...

Both great units. Touch choice. Which 720P Panny is in the running?

The Panny that I am thinking about is the TH-50PX77U. It appears to have less resolution than the Hitachi, but likely for me not noticable. Most of the TV we watch will be HD Satellite through Bell Expressvu and I don't think that there are any feeds over 720P. My 58" 1080P will be in my home theater for Blue Ray and Playstation etc.
