I don't know about you, but I don't mind having it earlier than that :D .

I have a preorder in, but I received no email from Amazon regarding an early release. Early or not, I just hope the quality is decent. I've been quite disappointed with some of the BD releases I've purchased recently (though Casino Royale is spectacular!).

The first truly epic battle of HD DVD vs BD.

I suspect The Matrix Trilogy appeals more to the people who would preorder a movie while PotC 1&2 is more of a movie people would pick up over time.

It will still be interesting, given how BD cleared the schedule more or less to make room for PotC while HD DVD is throwing everything AND the kitchen sink on that day in a vain hope of holding back the tide...

Most retailers have the disks days before the street date. Normally amazon won't ship anymore than a day before. There are other retailers that ship up to a week before, but you have to find out which one yourself since they get in trouble if you get it too early.;)

Sorry if this caused any confusion. Maybe there were so many preorders, that they weren't expecting to fulfill them all come release date, and they just learned that they'll be receiving a larger shipment, which means everbody gets a copy on release day.

Hope I'm wrong, though :D !

It's too bad this one won't showup until fall or late fall.

They might try one of those box-set things come October, and they might even include some plush toy Captain Jack Sparrow to make it irresistible too.

when's domino coming out on BD. The audio would be off the chain. As a Plus Ms. Knightley does a little 'extra' with her role in the movie. But then again you know how disney is with the "pron".

Glad I pre-ordered this one. It is going to be one heck of a Blu-Ray...
