My old Philips Pronto is getting old, has a broken button and it's hard to find codes for it without having to run them through NEO Hacker.
I'm not firm on this but I'm looking for a sub $200 remote with customizable sceens and macro functions like the Pronto.
Uses or requirements;
1) CRT Registration and Convergence for a VPH-G70 (a must have)
2) touch screen (customizable )
3) audio gear
4) STB HD receiver
5) HTPC w/ MCE 2005
6) Lutron lighting controller
What are your recommendations?

Can you live without the touch screen (which if you have not tried, you should--I hate touch screens, they get dirty and you can't use them in the dark without the backlight and looking at it and you have less functionality available per page, etc, etc--ugh! I hate them)? If so, I've controlled all the things you are asking about with the Home Theater Masters with no issue. Heck, if you don't mind teaching it (vs. programming via computer), you can get an MX-500 used for $50. If you don't like it, just sell it.
But if you try it, you may get used to over 50 functions being available at once instead of less than half that, as well as being able to perform most actions without turning on the backlight and looking at the remote. :)

Home theater masters are great.
So are Logitech Harmony remotes
The question is if either has the g70 codes on line, you'll have to look that up.
Go to remotecentral.com and you can see and read all about the latest and greatest remotes plus see which have g70 codes.

Worst case, you can program in the G70 codes by learning. I've done this with a G70 and an MX-500

RF isn't much good for things that work with IR.

The RF is proprietary--it will not control RF devices. The RF communicates with an RF base station which drives the IR blasters in these systems. Since the worst place possible for your equipment is the front of the room under your screen, it is likely to not be there. This means you will have to be using an IR repeater with some receiver at the front of the room.
An RF remote system like the HTM's has three advantages:
1) No need to install an IR receiver and run the wire to the distribution block by the components.
2) No need to point the remote anywhere--it works no matter where it is pointed.
3) Can control components from other rooms in the house.
An RF system has 1 disadvantage:
1) They tend to have multi-path problems if the IR from the remote can be "seen" by the components.
If the components are in a closet or at the back of the room, you probably won't have this issue.
