Does anyone know how to enter into the service mode on the Panny DMR-E80H? I tried entering "Stop" and "Time Slip" and "Open/Close" for 5 seconds like documented on "The Great DMR-E85H Snafu" site (http://www.dxcc.com/dmr-e85h.htm) and elsewhere but it has no affect on my E80H. I'd also be interested in any documentation about SM operations if they differ for this model compared to what was written up on "The Snafu" site for the E85H.
I ran into a problem with my unit after doing a program divide last night. I now can't playback any of my prerecorded programs. The unit also errors out after doing a manual record or a timer event. Dubbing to or from the HDD also fails. I wanted to see what the SM could do for me before I bite the bullet and attempt a HDD format. I haven't done a FW update on this unit but I doubt that would help this problem. I believe the file system has just gotten corrupted to a point that only a format or HDD replacement will cure it unless there's something in the SM. I haven't had a need to update the FW and I'm cautious about doing so since I read that people were having problems with it (reading previous -RAM or -R discs or some such thing). I need to get this fixed or replaced before "The Sopranos" airs on Sunday!
