Hello,
I've decided to step up to bat with the big boys here on AVS. :D

I am completely new to the world of projectors, so I guess I need help and info on every aspect. :o

To start out with, I'd like a 1080p projector with as good a picture as I can get. But then again, who doesn't?? :p

Space:
I'm moving to a new apartment soon so I'll just have a modest sized living room to
work with, and I'll have to work around the the average lighting situation that is expected from living rooms. I'm on a budget, but I don't want to go cheap either.

Screen selection:
I know very little about screen types. I guess I am looking for a fixed frame, but I don't know which types produce the best black levels and colors, but I'd also like something that will provide as bright and vivid of a picture possible for gaming. I'm looking for a 90" at minimum.

Projectors:
I was looking at the Panasonic AE-1000U, but one person has reported that the Playstation 3 wouldn't sync up with the HDMI. That's a big problem for me, can someone confirm the incompatibility with PS3 on the AE-1000U? I've also heard some people discussing Epson 1080p projectors, are they good quality? I know that the JVC DLA-RS1 has been getting very good reviews, but sadly I can't afford that much.

Can you manually adjust the settings on projectors the same as standard displays to accurately calibrate or will I be stuck with preset configurations? (Brightness, Picture, sharpness, color, tint, etc)

So judging by what I have said above, do you think you guys could point me in the right direction for a 1080p projector and a screen that will produce very nice results with a budget of around say $5000? Thank you all so much in advance, I don't know how I'd live without this forum. :)

The Sony Pearl may be a good choice, a stellar performer since many people are going to the JVC model. ENjoy
