90% music for my bedroom..so basically an overall good standalone sub that can handle 20-80Hz real well b/c I listen to alot of reggae...Thx
Nothing earth shaking but can play my lows clearly @ low levels so im assunming the sub will need to be self-powered.
Any powered sub will work with the Sonos device. What kind of main speakers are you using? What is your budget for the sub?

Well im thinkin of gettin orb mod2s as my mains since theyre small. Im probably going to get the sub that come w/ it for right now or the svs sb12, but ill still like to know what sub you all would use, so I can check it out. I dont really like setting a budget b/c if I think it is a quality product ill save up and buy it.

The 80hz crossover on the Sonos is too low for the Orbs. The Orbs need a much higher crossover due to the fact that the speakers only play down to about 180hz.

You can use the speaker level connections on the SB12. The crossover is at 100hz.

You can still use them that way, but you will have a hole in the FR.
You can hook the speakers up directly to the Orb sub and its crossover....bypassing the sub output on the Sonos.

Once the sonos senses a sub is hooked up to it, the x-over automatically sends only freqs lower than 80Hz to the sub. So if I use the speaker outputs from the sub I wont get any freqs above 80Hz goin to the spkrs.
I am goin to be using orbs for my main HT setup in the future so if I dont like how they sound in my bedroom, ill just use them as surrounds once I start working on my main HT setup Yet still if u have any other suggestions or thoughts in mind let me know b/c I will be visiting some stores this week and I want to narrow down my choices.

Ouch, didnt think about that either, b/c the sub will go up to probably 100Hz and the orbs will go as low as 180 Hz...LOL Damn those little orbs can fit right behind my headboard too, my bedroom setup would of been soo slick..
