I can see one disc facing us, and the rest is either too blurry or we're staring at the top (which I'm sure the 'philes among us can tell each and every one of them apart, but I can barely see that you have one boxset...).

I also have that same Casshern 3 disc set. Man i can't wait until Casshern gets released to Blu-Ray/HD-DVD. That was like the most visually amazing dvd i've seen.

That's not really what I meant, movies like POTC2 and Serenity are fine (I own both actually), some people like them and some people don't, but I'm looking at some of these collections with like 100 BDs, and it's as if some people just buy a BD movie just for the sake of buying a BD movie (I mean who can honestly watch universally hated movies like Ultraviolet, Aeon Flux, Click, Into the Blue...more than once, if even that...but I guess it's like you said, one man's LOTR is another mans Flyboys). I've watched Into the Blue atleast 4 times. It was a blind buy and worth every penny seeing Jessica Alba in HD in a bikini :D

I happen to really enjoy "Into the Blue." I have watched that Blu-ray disc like three times since buying it. I also enjoyed the film it so obviously copied, Peter Benchley's "The Deep" with Nick Nolte, Jacqueline Bisset, Robert Shaw and Louis Gossett.

Have you ever heard of a sale? I bought a ton of movies on the two for one deals. Many of my BDs were just 10 bucks apiece. The Warner Bros. discount codes also enabled me to buy a bunch at $14.36. So what's your beef with saving hundreds of dollars? Should I unwrap them to suit someone's preoccupation with my habits?

...and many movies that are horribly reviewed are actually a helluva lot of fun to watch. Movie reviewers are just average Joe Schmoes with an opinion (often bad ones). Many badly reviewed films are enjoyed long after their critics are dead, buried and thankfully, forgotten.

But hey, i'm just voicing my opinion, and it's not my place to tell someone how to spend their money.

And you can't really reason the motives for one to be a collector. Different people tend to collect all kinds of different things and it doesn't really need to be something that as use. Stamps anyone?

So even if one doesn't watch all the movies one buys. Satisfaction can still be had from just collecting them.

Why do people buy crappy movies that they're gonna watch maybe once?

how do you know you will only watch a movie once before you see it?

I buy movies for three reasons?

1) it is a movie I know I want (seen it and love it)
2) it is a movie that sounds interesting (reviews, back cover....) - aka blind buys
3) it is a movie in a none interesting genre but it is not bad and I would not mind re-seeing it (i.e. I bought Dirty dancing, OK movie and that way I have a chick flick if needed)

In Europe it is, it was released late March, I believe March 24th or so ;)

That copy of Hellboy is obviously an import. I heard the transfer was average, but I'll wait for online reviews before pre-ordering.

I rather enjoyed the movie

Ultraviolet had its moment, especially the action scenes. Overall, it was pretty lame though.

Got it as well. It was not expensive and as girl movies go it was bearable. So it helps put something in that category.

Yikes! I own all of those and have indeed watched each of them more than once. [/runs and ducks for cover]

You want the answer why? I like Milla, Charlize, Kate, and Jessica...nothing like HD eye candy! Seriously though, I like the movies too. Though none of them are favorites of mine, they're still fun to watch.

Long story short, I got the ultimate first and reloaded would not play, seems to be the usual issues lately with HD-DVD combos, couldn't return it, Warner said I had to send in the whole set and wait and see if they could figure out what is wrong with it with no guarantee I'd get a working replacement and it could be over a month for it to return. So I said screw it and got the complete set as they are non combos and play fine. So yeah I got a little jacked around because of the way Warner handles defective discs.

Lessen learned no more combos for me. All of the latest universal combos had issues luckily Universal was good about replacing the discs with working copies. Warner does not seem to have this type of process in place.

Well you'd be getting broadcast HD quality, and only DD 5.1, so unless you REALLY want to pay for that, I'd say wait ;)

Given the fact that we may be waiting a really long time, I'll take it!

Finally got around to getting a new media shelf, so not my DVD and BD collection is all in one place and laid out nicer.

You can do that, but I only have a reader, but I have Component out of my video card and did the job till I ordered the Region A player :D
