There appears to be many conflicting reports of the HC5000's ability to project BTB signals. Some reviews suggest it cannot but users on the HC5000 main thread claim they can.
What is the experience of users on this issue? I've already PM'd a user who managed to get BTB using the Oppo 970 but you need to set RGB as the output and select "Enhanced" on the Input Level option on the menu for the projector.
I'm using DVE for calibration and a Zensonic (Ziova) Z500 DVD player over HDMI. Setup is OFF.
Can't set RGB vs. YUV on this DVD player and the "Input Level" option on the projector is greyed out. Is that normal? If so, I suspect that the DVD player is sending YUV rather than RGB to the projector.
Why would YUV signal prevent BTB being projected? I've tested the Zensonic DVD player on a CRT TV and manage BTB over component so see no reason why it should have a problem to the projector unless the HDMI signal is clipped.
