Just curious if anyone is running the projector this way because they like the extra light output.

I was surprised at how good the projector looked this way - great for sports with some lights on (never was able to do that in my bat cave with my CRT), but I could see some people simply preferring the plasma-like punch this gives the image - and to my surprise there was very little change in fan noise. Certainly well below the fan noise of my CRT in any case!

I havent set up my 128" carada BW setup yet, but I might have to (run it on high lamp sooner or later) depending on how bright it is. Ive tried high lamp on my 110" and its not too bad, but I do prefer normal.

I have a 110" Stewart Studiotek (1.3 gain) now and am thinking of going larger. I was thinking of checking out Carada - love the price. Do you have experience with them? Coindentally I was thinking of pretty much the same size, same gain (1.4). Are you expecting your soon? Would love to hear your thoughts on it...
