I have been searching the forum and haven't come to a conclusion on my question so here goes. I just bought a Mits. 57831 on the 4th of April and am in need of an extended warranty.

Can anyone tell me if the 5 year RepairTech warranty with bulb replacement for $140 is any good? Do they treat you well, is the service timely? Is it everything a warranty should be?

I am also looking into the Mack/Texas Tapeworks 4 year warranty for $210 and it seems that everyone is happy with them.

Obviously i'd like to save $70 but if the Repairtech warranty isn't any good i'll definitely pay more for the mac.

Thanks!

Are you sure repairtech replaces bulbs? If I remember correctly, they don't. If they say they do, make sure to have that in writing.

Ugh... I just got done with a transaction with RepairTECH. The TV I had needed a light engine replacement because of a few dead pixels so of course they scrapped it. The offer to replace it? A completely low-balled offer of $1200 to replace it. Current retail on the 720 JVC's is $1400 so yeah, I couldn't recommend them to you. (Yes, I know it's $200, but I'm a college student. That's a pretty big inconvenience.)

I called them and it looks as though it DOES NOT include bulb replacement as you stated. That is another $70 for 3 years which then would not match the rest of the warranty. I think i'll just go with the Mack warranty.
