I'm looking at buying either a Sony 60XBR2 or Samsung HLS6187W this week. I live in Mazatlan Mexico but come back to Arizona a few times a year. My question is is it still worth while getting an EW given my scenario? I realize that they won't do a service call so it means I will have to deal with the hassle of planning a trip back to the States if something goes wrong. I'm thinking it's probably still worth while since not having an EW means I'd eat the repair cost vs putting the tv in my car and planning a trip back to see my parents where it can be worked on.

Or.............is it possible to get an extended warranty through Samsung or Sony directly and if so.......wouldn't they likely still cover it if I were "transferred" to Mexico where they sell the same products? They obviously warranty tvs bought in Mexico so wouldn't they also cover the same set that was bought in the US?
