I just built a new computer and I'm trying to use my TV as a montor. As we all the know the VGA output on the A2000 is pretty gimped. I went with nvida and got a 8800gts this time around, cause about 8 months ago me and my friend were able to hook up his computer to my A2000, which was using a nvidia card(7900gt), and it was easy as pie, took 2 minutes to make the desktop and everything fit perfectly. We just created a custom resolution, and then it worked. Games started up just fine as well, but wouldnt start up on my ATI card. I was never able to get it to fit full screen at 60hz with ATI.

Now that I have my new card its not at all like it was before with my friends computer a while back. Nvidia seems to have an all new Nvidia control panel, and the drivers or something are not compling with my A2000. When I create a custom timing, 1824x1016p, it just decreases the picture from the top left corner and creates black bars on the top and left side, while the bottom and right sides of my destop are still hidden.

I tried using the standard resolution 1920x1080p, and then resizing the destop, but when I make it smaller and click ok, it doesnt change anything, its like it just changes right back.

Has anyone been able to get it to work with any of the 8800 cards and the newest drivers?

I suggest that you use the Overscan Compensation option in the NVIDIA Drivers/Control Panel instead of trying to create custom timings to underscan your 1080p output.
Make sure that you do have the latest drivers for your 8800 card the ones you have may not be as good as the 7900 card drivers.

yea I cant find overscan compensation in the nivida control panal. When I got it to work on my buddies computer he was using a 7900gt. So maybe its just not possible at this time to get it to work properly on a 8800 card? Does anyone else have any experince trying to hook up there A2000 to a 8800?

I believer that only the latest 8800 beta dirvers have overscan compensation capability. Check the release notes when you download them from the NVIDIA Website.

I think the beta is only for Vista, I have XP.
